The Picture Gallery at Paxton House is sold out for the first concert of this year’s Music at Paxton Festival. The Paxton Estate, like other parts of the eastern Borders, was severely hit by Storm Arwen and lost many trees, but the grounds are colourful with floral tubs, the Marquee is in place, and the Picture Gallery is back to full capacity last year’s very welcome, but still distanced events.

Back in 2015, I wrote about Music at Paxton’s celebrations for the 10th festival [see my article], then finally last year I was able to visit the house for the first time (alas, not during the festival). This year the festival runs from 22 to 31 July 2022 at Paxton House in the Scottish Borders.
First-class chamber music in a beautiful setting is on offer over ten days at Paxton House in the Scottish Borders during July. A range of top-flight chamber music will be performed by brilliant musicians in an exciting and captivating programme exclusively at the House, with performances from morning until dusk.
